Student of the Month - April 2020 (Georgianna Gennitti)

Georgianna Gennitti is a 9th grader with a 3.6 GPA who attends Colorado Early Colleges. Her love of math allows her to  develop problem-solving skills. These skills will serve her well into adulthood and beyond. Georgianna enjoys athletics and participates in flag football, volleyball, and basketball. Georgianna is also a great conversationalist and likes to engage others in discussions.

Georgianna contributes to her community by helping to clean neighborhood parks, serving the homeless in a soup kitchen, and assisting children with special needs to play sports through Special Olympics.  After high school, Georgianna plans to attend college where she would like to earn a master’s degree in Architectural Engineering.

Georgianna’s mentor is her sister, Sarah, who received her associates degree at age 18 and a bachelor’s degree in communications at age 19.  Her sister’s example helped her to learn that with  focus, determination and perseverance, you can succeed at anything. Georgianna has attended the AAYLC for the past three years.  The conference has pushed her to become a better leader and provided insight into the college experience.
