6th Annual Book Summary Lottery
"When I look back, I am so impressed again with the life-giving power of literature. If I were a young person today, trying to gain a sense of myself in the world, I would do that again by reading, just as I did when I was young." ~Maya Angelou
Calling all 6th - 12th grade readers! It is time for AAYLC’s 6th Annual Book Summary Lottery. Walk, run, skate, or ride your bike to the nearest library—or ELibrary. Grab (or download) a novel written by an African American author. Read it from cover to cover, and then submit a book summary to a panel of judges who are eager to read your thoughts on the novel of your choice.
Your book summary could be worth a $100 Amazon gift card! All submissions will be entered into a drawing. Eight students will have an opportunity to win. Summaries are due Saturday, May 27th. To access the book summary link, please click here.
