Crown Scholar - October 2026 (Dominic Ballard)

October 2026.png

At just 15 years old, Dominic Ballard is already proving that big dreams, hard work, and a whole lot of personality can be a powerful combination!

A junior at Fountain-Fort Carson High School, Dominic has earned an impressive 4.33 GPA while balancing a full schedule of academics, choir, Speech and Debate, DECA, volleyball, and community involvement. He even skipped a grade—an accomplishment he says wasn’t easy, but one he would absolutely choose again.

Dominic’s future has a delicious twist: he plans to become a pastry chef! His love of math, science, and art helped him realize that baking brings together everything he enjoys. In Dominic’s words, great food is all about the right ratios—and he clearly understands the recipe for success.

Outside the classroom, Dominic shines just as brightly. He participates in advanced choir and show choir, has served as a tenor section leader, competes in Speech and Debate, and hopes to return to the volleyball court as a libero or defensive specialist. He also brings what he describes as an “absurd amount of enthusiasm” wherever he goes—usually with a smile or a joke close behind.

Dominic gives back through school activities, church, and service opportunities, but one of his biggest personal goals is simple: to make other people smile.

After high school, Dominic hopes to attend a four-year college where he can pursue a culinary degree while continuing his interests in men’s volleyball and choir. And knowing Dominic, there may even be a campus pastry business in his future!
