A rising 11th-grade student at James Irwin Charter High School, Mia Busby is a Colorado native whose determination and drive are evident in the classroom, on the athletic field, and in her community. With a passion for biology and chemistry, she aspires to pursue a career in biochemistry. After high school, Mia plans to attend college and continue her dream of playing collegiate soccer.

A talented multi-sport athlete, Mia competes in varsity soccer, track and field, basketball, and ECNL club soccer. She was named James Irwin High School Soccer MVP in both 2025 and 2026 and has earned statewide recognition for her performance in goals, points, and assists. She also competed at the CHSAA Class 3A State Championships, earning sixth-place finishes in relay events in both 2025 and 2026. In addition, Mia competed as an ODP Regional Championship Player for Colorado Select in 2025, helping her team earn a runner-up finish.

Mia's achievements extend beyond athletics. Her honors include the Dean's Award, A/B Honor Roll, James Irwin Character Award, and recognition as a SACHS Elevated Student since 2023. Creative by nature, she also enjoys baking and cooking.

Committed to giving back, Mia has volunteered at a women's shelter, youth soccer camps, and Care and Share. Her experience attending the AAYLC helped her gain a deeper understanding of her community and the importance of connection and service.

Mia credits her grandmother as her mentor and one of her greatest influences. Through her guidance, Mia has learned the importance of working hard, being kind, staying true to herself, and persevering through challenges.

Mia Busby embodies the spirit of empowerment, growth, and connection. The AAYLC is proud to celebrate her as our July Crown Scholar, and we look forward to seeing all that she accomplishes in the future.
