Crown Scholar - November 2025 (Naylani Sykes)

At just 17 years old, Northfield High School senior Naylani Sykes already radiates the drive, compassion, and leadership of someone determined to make a difference. With a dream to become a pediatrician, Naylani is on a mission to ensure every child grows up healthy, happy, and supported—whether she’s cheering on the sidelines or volunteering in her community.
Naylani’s journey is powered by her love for science and history, and her belief that learning about the world—and the people who shaped it—builds a foundation for her future in medicine. Her proudest moments include making the cheer team three years running, earning Basic Life Support and EKG certifications, and being accepted into a CNA program. She’s also excited to start her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant after graduation, gaining hands-on experience while working toward her ultimate goal: opening her own pediatric practice and building a legacy for her family.
Outside the classroom, Naylani brings energy and teamwork to everything she does, from mentoring young cheerleaders at summer camp to volunteering at local organizations that support families in need. She’s also an artist at heart, customizing clothes with her own unique flair.
Naylani credits her mother as her greatest motivator and is eager to participate in the AAYLC conference, where she looks forward to connecting with new friends, learning from inspiring leaders, and finding even more ways to give back.
With her unstoppable spirit and commitment to uplifting others, Naylani is truly a Crow Scholar to celebrate!
